Post subject: Stringer's pre game bump on Murray | |
|
I haven't heard this discussed anywhere. Just before the siren sounds to start the game, Jake Stringer takes an unsuspecting Murray down with a huge bump which sends him flying.
Yes, we got a free kick out of it, but surely this should be a report for intentional rough play. This had the capacity to really hurt someone just standing there, not bracing for a hit. |

I agree.
A real cheap shot on a totally unsuspecting player just moments before the ball was due to be bounced.
It was a weak act by Stringer very weak. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Dermie copped it from Mark Yates for doing this dog act. Stringer will get his. Umps will watch. A germ who really has very few mates in Footy. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

The free was pushing him into the square. Been a rule forever. The rule generally is, if YOU go into the square before the bounce, it’s a free against you. This is a way to combat it. _________________ Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey, we want some Bayley! |

He didn't push him into the square. That's how BT described in an attempt to be kind to "the package".
What happened clearly was he snuck up behind Murray, catching him unawares, and then bumping him forcefully and sending Murray sprawling 5metres to the side, and leaving him obviously winded. Pretty low act.
The best was when Watson called that Stringer was "on" and that they should isolate him in the goal square. He hardly touched the pill after that. LOL. |
