Looking forward to the training base to be finished. Expecially if we play our home games for our VFL side there. |
Well, Paddy, easy enough to find a patch of grass somewhere to play-on (or maybe not, given the drought!), but what some of us are on about is getting the Black&White to grace Victoria Park, once again.
Returning isn't just about finding a venue, it's to do with re-connecting with our spiritual Home, even if that means just a few times a year, as much to do with pragmatics as it is to do with healing, I reckon.
What we have at the moment, is all & sundry using Vicky Park, while our 2nds play in low-grade conditions at sleezefilth park, ain't that so

Im afraid that crap argument bares no relevance. The young lads wore the famous collingwood jumper and deserved support regardless of that shit-hole in royal parade they had to play in | It bares more relevance than you think! I watched the VFL side in my one and only visit to Melbourne this year and to see them at Princess Park with black shorts on was not normal. The return to Victoria Park is sensational news! I will go all out, non stop to see B&W at Victoria Park, but not to Carlton. Each to their own.

This is my challenge to the City of Yarra and AFL Victoria.
You want to see the Collingwood phenomena in action?
Schedule Round 2 of the VFL season at Victoria Park:
Collingwood v Williamstown
The Ron Todd Cup
Collingwood people will come from far and wide.
Floreat Pica!

I'm not so sure that the City of Yarra want to see the Collingwood Phenomena in action ~ they're more into wanting to obliterate it!
If only they'd use their power for good instead of evil ......

I agree wholeheartedly Magarey. Many Collingwood people were dismayed at being asked to support Collingwood home games played at Carlton. I don't know why anyone would be surprised by bad attendance figures.
Victoria Park is our spiritual home and always will be.

Then we are left with Collingwood playing in Collingwood.

Not alot , I think it's more for the history aspect in this case.
Regardless we'll have our own permanent VFL ground at Olympic Park in a few years , so it will be a chance to use our old home ground for a few years , and maybe a game or two for the rest of our VFL existence , if all goes to plan with the council.

What would you like to happen?
With the prospect of the who's-who of Collingwood legends being in attendance at these games I guess that will keep people away in droves.
