Don't know about other Nicksters, but I'm excited about next year and here's some good reasons why ...
Rocca, Reid, Rusling, Presti (bigs department) and Didak, Shaw, Dick (the smalls) will be all fresh, firing fit and ready to go from the start next season.
Throw into the fold four top 50 draft picks, two or three who may well get a game or 10 in their first year, and I believe there are exciting times ahead. _________________ Billy Picken, the great No. 25 in the sky! |

A fit Josh Fraser all year and Cameron Wood coming on too.
The grunt of McCarthy and class and poise of Wellingham with more games under their belts.

hell yesss!! always optimistic but these past two years have been special.... so much to look forward to..
i just pray this group doesnt get into any major trouble and we dont have any falling outs or whatever because it is such a great group that is growing up together right now and i am so luck to be able to watch their evolution, from boys into premiership (x4) champions hopefully |

Throwing some new blood into the club, keeps the place fresh, having leigh brown and anthony corrie into the team throws a spanner into the works about how teams play us. They have contingencys for key players in our game plan. At least in the early parts of the season the new kids that get a game plus these recycled boys may just give us that element of surprise. Maybe not, but new blood is always good.
For the record, i wont be giving anthony corrie ne respect until he repays us 4 pts. for that game he helped brisbane steal with that absolute soft as shit free kick _________________ Side By Side We Stick TOGETHER.............. |

i enter every new season with unbridled optimism, it's just that the sinking feeling arrives earlier in some years more than others. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Optimism? Wash your mouth out! Don't you know Eddie has been revealed as Darth Vader, Mick is senile, the Board are plotting world domination, and the cheer squad have turned into a country club, AND we've won one premiership in fifty years?
The players? What have they got to do with anything?!
The sky is falling don't you know? _________________ "Only the weak believe that what they do in battle is who they are as men" - Thomas Marshall - "Ironclad".

Oh rubbish. If you read what I've posted all afternoon on the Drafting Forum (but you hardly visit that do you?) you'll see that I'm very happy with our draft picks today. The football department can go forward with great optimism. It's the administration that I question. |

Dawes not mentioned yet!
Jack Anthony!!!!
JF McHale trophy winner Magic Leon Davis
RT Rush medalist Paul Medhurst
Jack Regan trophy winner Heritier O'Brien
AND THE COPELAND TROPHY WINNER and most underrated mid in the comp Dane Swan. 100 games. The next 25 will take the great Dane to a new level.
Throw on top of that the experience and drive of Lockyer, O'Bree and Fraser.
Heater and Trav are now ready to step up to AA selection in '09.
Pendles, Daisy and H all played their 50th in '07. Anothert gear will be found by these lads.
I could go on. So many bright lights. So many young champions that are ready to step up and more importantly willing. So many kids that just love playing for Collingwood.

Ok I'll put my hand up here. I see criticism and optimism both. I don't see dwelling pessimism. An active voice is a blessing however we regard the content. |
