Howe was also a monty to win MOTY but there is a large proportion of people who will not vote for Collingwood out of hatred.

This! And Josh Daicos GotY.

Had this conversation today. Essendon supporter adamant Daniher was the right call and that Drapers goal was far superior to Joshs. But also that Walkers mark should have beaten Krakouer. Rolling Eyes

Lets get serious. Howe took 2 marks that should have been in the finalists, both from games against Melbourne. Grundy took the third best mark. Daniher took a mark on Carlisles back, not his head. It was not even the best mark Daniher took that year. So I'd say the 5th or 6th, maybe even 7th best mark won it that year. Howes mark on McDonald was an absolute all timer and it comes runner up. They changed the rules after this debacle.

Walker would be feeling this way after the Krakouer mark won. But at least those were the top 2 marks that year.

After we won the flag, I said to Howe, show Joe the medal he doesnt have now, because he wont be taking this one from you. He loved it.

You can bet that guy in the long sleeve flannelette (walking down the aisle) was an absolute nightmare. You can see him mouthing off and giving a friendly gesture in the replay after Elliott kicks it.

I wish I was in the photo, but looks like an Essendon members section.

It was one of the most classically beautiful marks I have seen in 40 years of watching the game : the uprightness of the leap, the cleanness of the grab, taking the ball at the very top of his flight.

We have been so lucky to have this fantastic young man serve his career in black and white, leaving us a lifetime of memories.

It really was a mixed day for him yesterday...

If it’s the one I’m thinking of, it was punched out of his hands before he really had it, was it our end last quarter? I got pics of it.

Yes it definitely looked like it was punched out of his hands.

He won it in 2012, but he was playing for Melbourne then.

We are blessed to have some top flight aerialists in the team. Howe, WHE, Billy and don’t forget Bobby Hill with his GF speccy.

Yes,it was a fabulous mark.Clearly the mark of the year. But knowing how these things go with the AFL,the mark of the year award will probably go to Joe Daniher or someone like that.😌

It's only round 7, and with over 150 more games to play, there will likely be other great marks. Any better would truly have to be one of the all time greats. Chances of that happening would be under 50 percent imo

Would he be the 1st to win it twice?

I remember that one! Thanks! Same timing and spring. I feel yesterdays was taken higher and used McKay well to get there. The ANZAC day one is the best love it! Like Howie's mark a few years ago.

Yep, 1st one was probably more glide with younger legs but in the 2nd, he got up higher springing off McKay's shoulders. It looked more spectacular imo

Yep. Shocking.
Imagine if Jamies mark is not given mark of the week. It's happened before.
And there are actually Geelong people who think Guthrie took the better mark. Rolling Eyes

He almost went to Brissy a couple seasons back. Shocked

He's been a gem. I remember his early years and the hype and excitement around him. Then a few seasons of injuries with some saying he'll never come back.
